The New Island Hospital!
Island Hospital has been expanded and renovated over the past three years. The hospital has expanded the Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Birth Center and Registration facilities. In addition, the patient rooms are now all private! Patient Safety Awareness
Island Hospital supports all efforts to improve patient safety, especially in the hospital setting. There is much the patient and family can do to ensure a safe hospital stay.
The Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) is the nation's only nonprofit organization of pharmacists, nurses and doctors devoted entirely to safe medication practices. Preventing medication errors is no longer just a responsibility for health professionals—consumers like you can also play a vital role.

Island Hospital's Board of Commissioners has voted to support Washington State's Death with Dignity Act, which was approved by 59% of the state's voters. Who owns Island Hospital?
"Who owns Island Hospital?" Hospital-contracted surveys have shown that 75% of our community residents did not know. The answer: Those who live in our Public Hospital District boundaries -- which include Fidalgo, Guemes, Cypress and Sinclair islands – own Island Hospital.
