Auxiliary
The Island Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1958 to promote the health and welfare of the community in a manner consistent with the Island Hospital mission. The Auxiliary is a volunteer group whose primary focus is fundraising – and, more importantly, “FUN-raising”. All are invited to join!

Raising Funds to Support Our Hospital

Over the years the Island Hospital Auxiliary has supported many programs and projects. One shining example is the Lifeline program. Through the efforts of the Island Hospital Auxiliary, Lifeline services are provided to individuals who are unable to pay.

For more information about Lifeline, call 293-7563 or click here.

The Auxiliary also purchases needed hospital equipment or provides monetary support for facility upgrades. Over the past few years, the group has purchased Surgery Department furnishings, a special chair for the Intensive Care Unit, a stand-up scale and a pediatric bed.

Currently the Auxiliary focuses on the following fundraisers:

  • Candygrams on Valentines Day (February)
  • Easter Baskets (March)
  • Penny Drive (July)
  • Mini-Christmas Tree Sale (November)
  • Heart Pillows (on-going)
  • Teen Moms
  • Baby Books
