At Island Hospital, our Patient Accounting Office staff work closely with each patient to handle financial arrangements before, during and after any procedure or visit. Professional, caring patient account representatives are available to answer your billing and insurance questions.
 
Understanding Your Hospital Bill

Hospital bills can be confusing, especially when there are unknown charges and multiple bills. Add to this the amount your insurance may or may not cover, and it can become difficult to understand. On this page you'll find information on frequently asked questions, definition of service codes and more.

If you have any questions about your hospital bill, you can contact the Island Hospital Patient Accounting Office at (360) 299-1378, Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM.

 

Financial Policy

Patients are required to pay balances in accordance with the following guidelines:
  • Payments may be made using Cash, Checks, or Credit Cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover).
  • Physician office and therapy visit co-pays are required on the date of service. Lack of co-pay payments for any visits may result in rescheduling of the service.
          Prompt Pay Discounts
  • If insured, a 10% discount is available on the patient responsibility (after insurance has processed) if paid IN FULL within 30 days of the 1st statement *
  • For those without insurance, a 30% discount is available if the balance is paid IN FULL within 30 days of the 1st statement.*   
  • Any payments received PRIOR to the service will also be eligible for the discounts listed above.
  • Extended payment plans are available upon approval with a maximum extension of six (6) months and a minimum payment of $50.00 per month.
  • Delinquent accounts will be referred to a collection agency at which time additional fees will be assessed.

Patients who meet certain requirements may be eligible for consideration under Island Hospital’s Charity Care Program. For more information on our Charity Care Program, please contact Patient Accounts.

* No discounts will be applied on services that REQUIRE pre-payment.  		  
 

Other Related Bills You May Receive

Often, you will receive other bills for services. Doctors and sometimes other services may be separate businesses with their own billing and accounting procedures. If you would like a list of these service providers and phone numbers, please contact the Island Hospital Patient Accounting Office and we will get that to you.   
 

Accepted Insurance Plans

At Island Hospital, we are committed to providing every patient with the highest-quality care, regardless of your specific insurance coverage. For those without health insurance, our Business Office is available to provide assistance and resources.

Island Hospital accepts most types of health insurance plans. Below is a list of the most common plans accepted at Island (if you do not see your plan listed, please call the Business Office to find out if your plan is among those accepted):

Our staff understands the peace-of-mind that comes from knowing in advance the cost of a procedure or visit. Patients who would like an estimate prior to their visit can contact our Admitting Office at (360) 299-4203.
