Pediatric Sleep Studies

For adults, the lack of quality sleep can have serious health, workplace and quality-of-life implications. But for children, sleep disorders can give rise not only to health problems, but to academic, behavioral, developmental and social difficulties. And as any parent who has spent a night awake with a sleepless child knows, such a disorder can cause severe disruptions of family life.

Pediatric sleep studies are performed at the Island Hospital Sleep Wellness Center, in a comfortable facility built specifically for this purpose. The sleep lab is equipped with technologies and equipment specially devised to diagnose and help treat pediatric sleep disorders. The child patient can enjoy the comforts of home before sleeping and a parent is allowed to stay overnight.
