Dr. Jody Cousins’ farewell message to patients

Amanda FloecknerNews

Dear Valued Patient,

I write this letter to share with you that as of July 31, 2018 I will no longer be practicing at Fidalgo Medical Associates in Anacortes. As many of you know, my husband is in the U.S. Navy and he has been relocated to Washington, DC. This was a difficult decision, but I have decided to join him in this new endeavor. (And yes, we have found a lovely home for our chickens!)

As a family doctor, it has truly been a privilege to be part of your life. I have always appreciated your honesty and willingness to share with me in what many would consider life’s special moments. Of course this means births, and end-of-life care, but also the other innumerable small moments in between.

Each and every one of you has shared with me part of your life’s story, and for many of you, you are now part of my story as well.

As we leave Anacortes, I will remember the kindness and generosity of this wonderful community.

You are well aware that appointments with family medicine doctors are difficult to obtain, but please know that Island Hospital is making great efforts to make visits available to serve your healthcare needs. The physicians at Fidalgo Medical Associates are available to continue your care.

Please call our office at (360) 293-3101 for assistance in establishing with a new provider. In addition, the Center for Maternal & Infant Care will continue to offer appointments.

I am optimistic about my future challenges and want to wish you each the very best, now and always.

Jody A. Cousins MD
