Island Hospital names Jason Hogge, MD, as the new Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Hogge fills the position after a competitive selection process. Robert Prins, MD, last served as Island Hospital’s CMO and retired in August 2020. Dr. Hogge’s tenure as a passionate healthcare provider with exceptional clinical expertise was a standout amongst a pool of highly talented candidates. His appointment as the CMO ensures that Island Hospital’s vision of maintaining the health and wellbeing of the community remains in capable hands.

Dr. Hogge has over 15 years of clinical medical experience and is currently a trusted primary care provider at Anacortes Family Medicine and is Medical Director at Island Hospital’s Walk-In Clinic. He served many years in physician leadership at Island Hospital—six years on the Medical Executive Committee and two as Chief of Staff. Dr. Hogge was also a pivotal leader on the transition team of providers that supported the Island Primary Care – Orcas clinic opening, ensuring continuity of care for island residents. Furthermore, Dr. Hogge remains at the forefront of innovation and medical breakthroughs as the Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.

Dr. Hogge will continue to see patients, but on a reduced schedule. He will begin transitioning into the CMO role over the next several weeks.
