The Island Hospital Employee of the Month for October is Dietary Dishwasher and Cook, Gus Aguilar.
Gus was originally hired as a dishwasher in the Island Bistro, but it was soon discovered that he has a passion and talent for cooking. Gus thrives on positive feedback from patients and customers, and checks in with them to ensure they have a great dining experience. He remembers what people like to order and suggests options for those with special dietary needs. Gus is always friendly and willing to help his coworkers. His supervisor notes, “We are lucky to have Gus as a part of our Island Hospital family! Stay tuned for a project we are currently working on to feature some of his creations on a regular basis.”
