If you are unable to get an appointment with your regular provider, you can be seen at Island Walk-in Clinic – M Avenue with no appointment necessary. Our team of friendly healthcare providers can see you for minor illnesses or injuries that aren’t life-threatening, yet require medical attention now. We understand that seeing your primary care provider is always preferred, but sometimes, illness and injuries just can’t wait!
Services Provided
Walk-in Sports Physicals
Sports physicals can be completed with your child’s primary care provider at any scheduled appointment. To accommodate urgent needs and expand access to care, Island Health also offers convenient sports physicals in the Island Walk-in Clinic – M Avenue. We make it easy for your student-athlete to be ready for the big season with walk-in appointments available every day. Typically the best time for a sports physical is between 1 and 3 p.m.
Our services are meant to complement the care you receive from your primary care provider, on an urgent-needs basis. While we can’t treat life-threatening conditions, we can treat common medical conditions and help start your recovery process.
At Island Walk-In Clinic – M Avenue we are able to treat the following conditions:
- COVID
- Colds
- Flu
- Earache
- Migraine
- Fever
- Rash or minor allergic reaction
- Scrape or minor cut
- Sprain or strain
- Urinary tract infection
- Sinus infection
- and much more!

We’ve compiled some everyday scenarios to help test your knowledge.
The Emergency Department is the best place to go for treatment for serious/critical illnesses or injuries. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, call 9-1-1 or visit the Emergency Department immediately:
- Stroke (facial “droop”, slurred speech or numbness in arm, leg or face)
- Chest pain
- Severe abdominal pain
- Coughing or vomiting blood
- Severe burns
- Severe bleeding
- Severely broken bones
- Sudden blurred vision
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Seizures
- Head injury with loss of consciousness
- Sudden dizziness or loss of balance
- High fevers
